Join our volunteer team and help make every show at the Great Star Theater special

At the Great Star Theater, our volunteers are the heart and soul of our mission. By dedicating your time and skills, you become an essential part of preserving history, celebrating tradition, and fostering creativity in San Francisco's Chinatown. Whether you're helping patrons find their seats or assisting behind the scenes, you'll play a key role in making the magic happen.

Front of House Volunteers

Help us welcome audiences to the Great Star Theater! As a front of house volunteer, you'll assist with:

  • Greeting guests and creating a warm, welcoming environment
  • Ticket scanning and helping guests find their seats
  • Monitoring doors during performances
  • Assisting with concessions and merchandise sales

Grant Writing & Community Organizing

  • Community Outreach: Help us build bridges by organizing events, forming partnerships, and connecting with local businesses, schools, and cultural organizations
